How Own Your Time collects your data, why we use it, and how we protect it.

At Own Your Time, we respect your privacy and recognize that financial data reflects a personal and important part of your life. We therefore collect only the minimum data needed to operate the service, use it transparently and responsibly, and protect it in accordance with the laws applicable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the Personal Data Protection Law and its implementing regulations.

This policy applies to the Own Your Time website, application, and all related services.

A. Account data

This may include your name, email address, account identifier, account-creation date, and the login information needed to access the service.

We do not view your password in its original form. It is managed and protected by the authentication provider used by the application.

B. Financial data you enter

This may include information you add yourself, such as:

  • Salary and sources of income.
  • Monthly expenses.
  • Assets, investments, and portfolios.
  • Deposits, withdrawals, and financial transactions.
  • Profits, distributions, and recurring income.
  • Financial goals, plans, and decisions.
  • Asset values and estimated rates of return.
  • Financial-freedom indicators and freedom days or months.

Own Your Time does not connect to your bank accounts and does not request banking passwords or verification codes. Financial information in the application is entered manually by the user unless we clearly state otherwise in the future and obtain any required approvals.

C. Subscription and payment data

When paid subscriptions are enabled, we may process information such as the selected plan, subscription status, payment and renewal dates, transaction identifiers, and invoices.

Payment and subscription transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Apple App Store for iOS purchases and subscriptions and Paddle for web purchases and subscriptions. We do not store complete payment card numbers or card security codes (CVV/CVC) in our systems.

D. Technical and usage data

We may automatically collect certain information needed to operate and protect the service, including:

  • Internet Protocol address.
  • Device type, browser, and operating system.
  • Login times and pages used.
  • Crashes, errors, and unusual login attempts.
  • Cookies and similar technical identifiers.

E. Communication data

When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, message content, and the information you provide so we can handle your request or issue.

3. Why we use your data

We use data for the following purposes:

  • Creating, verifying, and managing your account.
  • Saving the information you enter and displaying it to you.
  • Calculating wealth and financial-freedom indicators.
  • Providing projections and insights related to your financial decisions.
  • Synchronizing your data across devices.
  • Managing subscriptions, payments, and invoices.
  • Providing technical support and responding to inquiries.
  • Improving application performance and the user experience.
  • Detecting errors, fraud, and unauthorized-access attempts.
  • Sending essential notifications about your account or the service.
  • Sending marketing communications only where a lawful consent or basis exists, with an easy way to opt out.
  • Meeting legal, judicial, and regulatory requirements.

The indicators and projections displayed by the application depend on the data and assumptions you enter and are designed to support understanding and planning. They are not used to make automated decisions that create legal effects or determine your eligibility for financial or credit products.

We process your data based on one or more of the following legal grounds:

  • Your consent when creating an account or enabling an optional feature.
  • Providing the service you requested and managing your account and subscription.
  • Complying with legal or judicial obligations.
  • Protecting the security of the application and its users and preventing misuse.
  • Pursuing legitimate interests connected with developing and operating the service, provided those interests do not override your rights and interests and are not used to process sensitive data without an appropriate legal basis.

Where consent is the basis for processing, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

5. How we collect data

We collect data through:

  • Information you enter when creating an account.
  • Data you add or edit within the application.
  • Your communications with the support team.
  • Technical systems, usage logs, and cookies.
  • Authentication, payment, and hosting providers to the extent needed to operate the service.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal or financial data, and we do not use details of your wealth or income to sell targeted advertising to you.

We may share only the minimum data necessary with:

  • Hosting and database providers, such as Supabase.
  • Website hosting and operations providers, such as Vercel.
  • iOS subscriptions and payments are processed through Apple App Store, while web subscriptions and payments are processed through Paddle.
  • Email and notification providers.
  • Performance and error-analysis providers, when enabled.
  • Advisers or professional service providers bound by confidentiality.
  • Governmental or judicial authorities where disclosure is required by law.

We require service providers to process data only under our instructions and for agreed purposes, and to apply appropriate measures to protect it.

7. Transfers outside Saudi Arabia

Some technology providers may use servers or operational teams located outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In those cases, we take the steps and safeguards needed to ensure that transfers comply with Saudi law, are limited to what is necessary, and receive an appropriate level of protection.

You may contact us to learn about the general categories of service providers or countries in which data may be processed.

8. Data retention

We retain your account data and the financial data you enter for as long as your account remains active and to the extent needed to provide the service.

When you request account deletion:

  • We delete the data or separate it from your identity after verifying the request.
  • Some copies may remain temporarily in backup systems until the automated deletion and replacement cycle is complete.
  • We may retain certain payment or statutory records for periods required by accounting, tax, or dispute-resolution obligations.
  • We may retain anonymized data for statistics and service improvement, provided it cannot identify you.

We may also retain limited records where needed to prevent fraud, protect rights, or meet legal obligations.

9. Data protection

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data, which may include:

  • Encrypting communications between your device and the service.
  • Restricting access permissions to databases.
  • Using secure authentication systems.
  • Maintaining logs of errors and unusual attempts.

However, no electronic storage or transmission method can guarantee that every risk will be prevented. We therefore recommend using a strong password and not sharing it with others.

We will request appropriate information to verify your identity before acting on a request. We aim to handle requests within 30 days of receipt and may extend that period where additional effort is required, while informing you of the reason.

You may also submit a complaint to the competent personal-data-protection authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its official channels.

11. Cookies

The website may use essential cookies to:

  • Keep you signed in to your account.
  • Protect the session and prevent unlawful use.
  • Save certain display and language preferences.
  • Understand website performance and fix errors.

We will not use non-essential analytics or marketing cookies without providing the required notice or obtaining consent where applicable.

The service is intended for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without the consent of their legal guardian where such consent is required.

If we discover an account belonging to a minor without an appropriate legal basis, we may restrict the account or delete the related data.

The application may contain links or integrations with external services. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we do not control how they process data outside the scope of Own Your Time services.

We may update this policy when developing the application, adding providers or features, or responding to changes in legal requirements.

We will publish the updated version on the website or in the application and identify the latest update date. Where a change is material, we will provide appropriate notice before it takes effect when required.
